The golden lampstand as known and seen throughout the very word of God holds such importance and significance in the story of God, that Israel, where I have been calling home these last 8 years, has adopted the lampstand as it’s national emblem. It can be seen on every national Israeli Id and passport, Israeli coins and throughout the land.
So by the Lord’s grace we hope to discover more and more of the deeper reality to what this lampstand symbolizes, the reality behind this emblem of Israel. Our heart is that these next writings will unveil in a simple yet profound way the heart of God.
“Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. Make the entire lampstand and its decorations of one piece.”
‘One Piece of Pure, Hammered Gold,’ were the directions from the Lord concerning this Lampstand. “Hear O Israel your God is One.” Before time, before space, and before the world ever existed, there was a relationship taking place. It was an unbreakable bond of unity; A fellowship of divine love and glory shared between The Father and The Son. It was as a gushing river flowing from the Father’s heart, into His Son. This river of love was perfect and pure, sacrificial, and unconditional. A love that took delight and pleasure in the other. A love that lifted the other up above oneself. It was the Father Himself through the Holy Spirit giving all of Himself to His Son, and the Son returning all of Himself to His Father. It was a perfect union of oneness in covenant love, a giving of themselves to each other. “God is Love.”
They also shared in glory. Glory, what a word. What is it, and how does it come about? Fullness, completion, what something or someone was created to be, this is glory. It’s best seen in a lily when it’s in full bloom, opening itself up to reveal its beauty to the world. As this lily extends its roots deep in the soil, it is then able to drink from the rain above and open its heart to the sunshine of spring, and the result…glory. This is the Son, living in union with His Father in The Spirit and fully glorified through Love. This is the fellowship of their oneness.
“Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!” –John 17:24
Divine Love= Divine Glory. This is perfect unity, the very Oneness of God.
“Hear Oh child of God, your God is One.”
